Heart dose–volume histograms of all 14 patient plans for (a) intensity-modulated radiotherapy and (b) three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy. Although heart volume treated to doses >30 Gy was minimal for intensity-modulated radiotherapy plans, mean and median heart dose were increased compared with three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy plans.
